Sandra Antunes, Preserving Family Memories Through Photography

Sandra Antunes has dedicated her life to preserving families’ most precious moments. Hear more about her story in this week’s Voices of Nutley!

Can you briefly tell us who you are, where you are from and what you do?

My Name is Sandra Antunes, I’m a natural light, lifestyle photographer, specializing in newborn, maternity and family photography. I grew up in Newark, NJ, and lived in the Bloomfield/Nutley area for 14 years.

What inspired you to start your own business and why in this field specifically?

I was inspired to photograph every moment of life soon after my son was born, 10 years ago. Life passes us by so quickly and preserving every memory, led me to my photography business. Family memories are another motivation. After my Dad’s passing and realizing we hardly had any pictures of him, made my passion strong to preserve the special moments. After all, after we’re all long gone, the only thing left are memories, and photos give you that.

What are your goals for Silveira’s Touch Photography?

My main goal is to keep growing and giving my beautiful clients the best. I plan to soon open a studio as well.

How long have you lived in North Jersey?

I’ve lived in North Jersey since I was 8, so that’s a long time…

How do you like Nutley and how do you like being a business owner here?

I love Nutley! All the family stores nearby, great restaurants and the amazing friendly community! I travel a lot for my photo sessions. Meeting at the little parks nearby and clients home is perfect!

How are you involved with the local community? Do you attend events?

The events in town are so much fun! My son’s favorite is when Santa arrives in the helicopter. I try to make it to most events.
