Emily Velez, Helping Nutley Natives One Massage At A Time

Emily Velez-Rosa has worked her way up from massaging to managing, always keeping the well-being of her clients her top priority. Hear more about her story in this week’s Voices of Nutley!

Can you briefly tell us who you are, where you are from and what you do?

My Name is Emily Velez-Rosa. I am a Jersey girl, raised in Belleville. I am an Elements Massage Manager of two locations (Nutley and New Providence) and I am also a massage therapist.

What inspired you to start your own business and why in this field specifically?

When I became a massage therapist, I had goals in advancing right away. In the last 11 years I have grown to be a massage therapist, lead therapist, assistant manager and now manager. I believe that massage therapy is part of a wellness routine and I am very passionate to tell others all about it.

What are your goals for Elements Massage?

My goal for Elements Massage is always to remain a part of the community and show everyone why massage should be a part of their wellness routine.

How long have you lived in North Jersey?

All my life.

How do you like Nutley and how do you like being a business owner here?

Nutley is an amazing town. Everyone is so nice and community oriented. The studio has been open for over 4 years and the Chamber of Commerce, The Nutley Women’s Networking Group, The Nutley Museum and local businesses have been great with us.

How are you involved with the local community? Do you attend events?

We try to be involved has much as possible. We have participated in Relay for Life, the town 5K, street fairs, chair massage events for local businesses, the expo and hopefully the farmers market very soon.
