PALISADES SCENIC BYWAY

This drive will cruise 10 miles along the Palisade, then 8.5 miles on Henry Hudson Drive. The park has over 30 miles of hiking trails that highlight the fall foliage.

Route 29, Washington Crossing State Park to Frenchtown

This scenic route begins at Washington Crossing State Park, which features leafy views of fall foliage.

“Start at Washington Crossing State Park, with its leafy, lovely views along the Delaware River, and then head north; you can pull over at several points and cross footbridges to the D&R Canal Towpath. You can even explore an island — Bulls Island Recreation Area, just north of Stockton. Two other charming small towns are along the way — Lambertville (stop at Tacos Cancun or El Tule for lunch) and Frenchtown (the Frenchtown Cafe remains closed due to a fire, but visit Sky Cafe at nearby Sky Manor Airport). In all three towns, you can walk across the bridge into Pennsylvania.”
