The Night of Frights is precisely how it sounds. Just one night a year during spooky season, The Historic Village at Allaire becomes the ultimate ghoulish attraction in the Jersey area. The whole village transforms into a Halloween spectacular for all ages, as it is fun, frightening, and educational. This year it happened this past Friday, October 22nd. Brite Nites at Wagner Farm – Warren, NJ

A spooktacular attraction that you can still catch this Halloween season is the Brite Nites at Wagner Farm in Warren, New Jersey. This will be the 10th year of this pumpkin-themed drive-through display that must be seen to believe. There are thousands of hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns displayed for the guests, as these pumpkins really light up the night sky. This year, in particular, features a tribute to essential workers and first responders. You can catch the final week of the Brite Nites this Wednesday, October 27th, through Monday, November 1st.

Sticking with the jack-o’-lantern theme is the Great Pumpkin Sail at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside, New Jersey. This unique event is happening on Monday, November 1st, and it is the perfect way to end the spooky season. These hand-carved pumpkins will get sent off on the lake to form an incredible light show that will illuminate the crisp night. Brighton Asylum – Passaic, NJ

It is known as the state’s “Scariest Haunted House” destination. It has gained national recognition and celebrity fame as the Asylum has been featured on The Today Show, Cake Boss, and Buzzfeed. Actor James Franco has notably visited the frightful attraction as well. The Asylum has plenty of bone-chilling experiences for all who dare to visit. Lastly, a more light-hearted and family-friendly Halloween attraction is the Boo-Tastic & Boo at the Boardwalk. This is the ultimate family fun event to head to this Halloween weekend, happening on both Friday, October 29th, and Saturday, October 30th. This event features everything at the historic Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, including trick-or-treating, arts & crafts, and underwater pumpkin carving. Also, this year Perky’s Pumpkin Derby is back and happening on Saturday, October 30th.
