You can drive around some of New Jersey’s best drive-thru light displays or stop to stretch out and walk around some of these attractions and view holiday decorations up close. Here are some of New Jersey’s best local winter attractions to visit with your family this holiday season: 

 

Essex County Turtle Back Zoo – Holiday Light Spectacular

Looking for a fun, family-friendly holiday activity? Look no further! The Essex County Turtle Back Zoo is having their annual Holiday Light Spectacular open from November 19 – December 31st. This isn’t your typical light display show. You can get the best of both worlds with attractions like a running train that circles a smaller light show, an inside fun and colorful carousel with many different animals to ride. Along with available Pony rides! 

Festive holiday snacks are too available for purchase. The S’mores Outside Cafe is open and serving delicious hot chocolate, Santa cookies, and more! Donations are requested, non-perishable items, new toys & gently used jackets are accepted donations, as Admission is free! Take your loved ones on a fun evening of adventure!

 

PNC Bank Arts Center – Magic of Lights 

Location: 116 Garden State Pkwy, Holmdel, NJ 07733

Winter is approaching soon! Stay warm and cozy in your vehicles while you tune into radio ALT 92.3 station to classic Christmas music as you drive through this beautiful winter wonderland of lights. Before the show, grab a hot chocolate or some delicious Christmas cookies to enjoy, located at the show’s entrance. Open throughout November 22 – January 4th! Tickets are available online.

 

Bergen County Winter Wonderland

Location: 216 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ

If your family loves to ice skate, the Bergen County Winter Wonderland is the perfect spot for you this holiday season. Located at Van Saun Park in Paramus, the Winter Wonderland has everything from ice skating, learning to play hockey, the North Pole Dome, kids games, food trucks, and a train ride called “Let It Glow”. This holiday-themed train ride takes you on a colorful light show through the Bergen County Zoo. You will not want to miss this opportunity for an action-packed family fun weekend at Bergen County’s Winter Wonderland, open through January 2nd. 

 

Six Flags Holiday in the Park Drive-thru Experience

If your family is looking for a grand experience this holiday season, Six Flags Holiday in the Park is back and better than ever! The Six Flags located in Jackson Township, New Jersey transforms into a magical holiday extravaganza. The whole family can enjoy the thrills of Six Flags amusement park rides, a Holiday Lights Drive-thru experience, tasty holiday treats, and Christmas-themed live shows. Festival of Trees at Morven Museum & Garden

This time-honored holiday exhibition is perfect for anyone who appreciates the art of decorating a Christmas tree! This year there are 8 decked-out Christmas trees on display in the gallery. After you visit, you get to vote on which tree was your favorite on the museum’s website. There are also 3 Christmas Mantels to check out and vote on. The Festival of Trees at Morven Museum & Garden is open through January 9th.
