animal shelters in NJ

If you have a pet, you know how quickly they become part of the family. They give us constant unfiltered love. At Nutley Kia, we are animal lovers and care deeply about their safety and well-being. That’s why we are proud to highlight one of our favorite animal shelters in New Jersey.

People for Animals has had an incredible impact on our local environment. This independent nonprofit animal welfare organization was originally founded in 1980. Shortly after, they participated in a pilot program to reduce animal overpopulation.

Now, People for Animals has three locations in Hillside, Robbinsville, and Clayton New Jersey. In 1985, they opened the state’s first Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic of its kind. Since then, People for Animals has had a sole mission: to prevent animal suffering through essential healthcare, public policy advocacy, and community programs!

Between their three locations, People for Animals care for more than 22,000 animals a year. They also spay and neuter around 17,000 animals in their clinics. Spreading the word about this amazing organization is crucial because they rely solely on private donations, grants, bequests, and fundraising events.

Run by volunteers, this program aims to care for stray and abandoned animals. People for Animals provides medical care, food, and shelter until a loving home is found. The organization goes beyond just making sure the animals are treated, they care about their futures.

Low Cost Wellness Services:

This is where People for Animals’ skilled veterinarians come in. To prevent animal suffering, this organization will provide preventative care for your pet at an affordable price. They also offer core vaccines and various animal disease tests, as well as deworming and fecal analysis at a low cost.

Human Education:

People for Animals has a multitude of diverse educational sessions. For starters, they feature speakers at local libraries and schools who give presentations on how to treat your pet and what to do when they are ill. They also provide various literature and focused workshops surrounding responsible pet ownership.

Fundraisers:

Fundraisers occur multiple times throughout the year. All the proceeds go directly to People for Animals’ programs. Their next fundraiser will be on April 14th. And take it from us, they’re a ton of fun!
