Meet Darryl Haley – North Jersey Metal Artist

We found Darryl, a North Jersey local artist, from his website, and surprised by his inspirational story of how he started concentrating on artworks after an injury. A man can’t be defeated. Take a look at his story.

My name is Darryl Haley and i’m a metal artist and fabricator located in New Jersey. I started out my career as a union sheet metal worker doing copper restoration and roofing work in NYC. I guess i’ve always been good with my hands and consider myself to be creative so when an injury on the job forced me to do something different I chose to do what I know, welding. I’ve been a welder for over 20 years and I love it. When i’m alone in my shop and working with metal it’s very therapeutic for me.I don’t have one set style or preference that I stick to but I do have a love for the jersey shore so a lot of my pieces are beach related. I grew up in North Jersey and have been involved in the art community here for quite some time. My interests include welding and metalworking(obviously), photography, carpentry and taking in all that this great state has to offer. There are so many places to see where I draw inspiration from and bring out in my work. Feel free to check out some of my art and let me know what you think.
