NJ Fall Foliage

One of our favorite things about living in the northeast is the beautiful foliage the accompanies the fall weather. Taking a long drive to explore the yellows and reds of the New Jersey trees has become one of our favorite autumn past times.

We want you to experience the simple joy of a Saturday car ride, exploring the state in all its seasonal beauty. We’ve compiled our favorite fall foliage destinations to drive to this year, so pack up the family, grab your keys and camera, and enjoy.

1. Ringwood State Park

Ringwood State Park is just a short 45-minute drive but offers over 4,000 acres of colored trees, botanical gardens, and lake waters. This beautiful destination boasts an entire day’s worth of activities. We suggest packing a picnic and relaxing under the giant pigmented trees.

2. Lake Hopatcong

Despite being New Jersey’s largest lake, this body of water is surrounded by some of the most beautiful foliage the season offers. Enveloped in giant trees, and crisp fall day can be spent under the scenery, fishing, or picnicking.

3. Stokes State Forest

Mountain views and roads lined with foliage covering from above attract thousands to this New Jersey spot each year. The fall is our favorite time to head to this spot for an active day outdoors. If you’re feeling really adventurous, head up to the peak of Sunrise Mountain.

4. Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area
