Jay Pila, the owner of Elements Massage in Nutley, had no experience with Nutley until he started working in the town a year ago. Within a year, he has been heavily involved in the community and sponsored many events in the town. Hi Jay, can you briefly tell us who you are? (your name, what you do, where you are from, etc)

My name is Jay Pila, owner of Elements Massage in Nutley. I live in Warren and am married with 4 children (the first one finishing college this year!)

I was born in Texas and moved to Taipei, Taiwan in 1971 as a kid and spent most of my childhood there. I graduated from The Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ and then graduated from Boston University.

I spent a great deal of my career in technology and financial services. Now, I own Elements and also have a business called International Medical Assistance. IMA provides US Healthcare alternatives to folks in Asia.

What’s your relationship with Nutley? How do you like this town?

I acquired this business from a long time Nutley resident. My personal experience with Nutley was almost zero until I started working here last year. Since then, I have grown to love it in Nutley. This town represents everything that a suburban American town should be. It’s strong focus on “Community” is apparent in our relationships with our clients and our neighbors.

How are you involved in the local community?

I am a proud member of the Nutley Chamber of Commerce and enjoy being a part of this community. We are a proud sponsor of many events in town, particularly those related to health and wellness. We will be very present at the Nutley 5K on May 1^st.

I love being in this business and being in this business in this town. Bringing joy to our clients every day puts a big smile on my face. In fact, our sales and customer service team have the best job in the world, getting to interact with people that are always so happy after their massage!
