Nutley Fall Activities

To say that we are excited about fall would be an understatement! With the leaves changing, and a crisp feeling in the air, fall activities are in full swing.

It seems like every year it’s the same old thing: visit a tired pumpkin patch and drink some warm apple cider. Don’t fall prey to this same old routine yet again; now is the perfect time to kick it up a notch! Here are the fall festivities you won’t want to miss:

Celebrate with the community:

Nutley Fall Festival

Take the whole family to Nutley’s annual Fall Festival! There will be a plethora of activities for people of all ages to enjoy. Children can bounce, slide and race all over the inflatables, get their faces painted and even watch a reptile show (at noon)! Adults can browse the various goods and services local vendors have to offer, including:

  • Glass Art
  • Clothing
  • Skincare Products
  • Candles
  • Jewelry
  • Health Products
  • Crafts
  • Food
  • Italian Novelties
  • Spirit Wear
  • Makeup

Grab some food from one of the stands or food trucks and have a picnic accompanied by live music. This event takes place on October 1st from 11am-4pm, so be sure to mark it down! If you can’t make it, you can support the Nutley community another way. Visit the Nutley Farmers Market every Sunday until October 29th from 9am-2pm. Gather your friends, family, and neighbors for a good time, and we’ll see you there!

The Ultimate Corn Maze

You may be thinking that corn mazes are just for children, but not this one! Stony Hill Farms Maze Fun Park, in Chester, NJ, has a maze that spans a whole 10 acres. Yes, really.

Stony Hill Farms Maze

Each year Stony Hill Farms puts together a giant themed maze, and this fall’s the theme is “Sea Turtle Recovery.” Not only will you learn all about the endangered species throughout your journey, but also a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Sea Turtle Recovery Center. So, play games, climb over bridges and have a blast in this larger than life maze.

Stony Hill Farms has other activities to partake in as well. Take a hayride, pick apples and pumpkins, play a giant board game, or go mining for gemstones. Before you go, take a look at their calendar for upcoming events and make sure your desired activities are offered when you are planning to visit (some are only available on the weekends). Hop in your Kia and take a drive over to Stony Hill Farms- believe us, it’s worth the trip!

Warning: Not for the faint of heart

Be sure to leave the small children at home for this one! Brighton Asylum, an interactive haunted house in Passaic, New Jersey, has been deemed “The Scariest Place on Earth” by the hosts of The Today Show.

Brighton Asylum

This house of constant horror gets its inspiration from its original purpose, housing the “mentally unstable and psychologically damaged ” in the 1940s. During that time, part of the complex was used for those who were the most violent and disturbed- this particular building was named the Brighton Asylum.

This haunted attraction re-opened with a different purpose back in 2011- making people scream in sheer terror. Take a ride down the 75-year-old service elevator to the terrifying tunnel where unspeakable things used to happen, walk (or sprint) through the asylum for a full 20 minutes of terror or try to escape one of their rooms with friends in 60 minutes or less. When you’re done, visit the Horror Museum for a look at original on-screen props and costumes from your favorite scary movies. If you’re looking for a truly frightening experience, Brighton Asylum is your answer!

We here at Nutley Auto Kia hope that you all have a fantastic fall! Need a new car to get your adventure started? Visit Nutley Auto Kia today to get started on finding the perfect vehicle! You won’t have to go through a maze of frustration to get a great deal and great service- we’re not that scary!
