Nutley Martial Arts Master Brings His Passion Home

We came across Invincible Ark Fitness from Nutley Chamber of Commerce and it caught our eye immediately. We are impressed by Denis Ark’s, the owner of the fitness center, passion for martial arts, as well as the fact that he brings more positive energy back to our community. We’re happy to have him here sharing his story with us. Take a look at how he devotes himself to the Martial Arts and Fitness world.

Story of Denis Ark, the Owner of Invincible Ark Fitness

When I was 5 years old, my father used to bring me to Yantacaw Park; it was convenient since we lived on Centre Street. One day, there was a kid selling a homemade pairs of nunchuks in the park. My father knew of my obsession for Bruce Lee and the martial arts so I begged him to buy them for me and he did. I was in heaven for the first minute or so until I cracked myself over the head with them. Then my father took them away from me and tried to throw them up in a tree. I cried until they fell on the ground. I ran real quick and snatched them up. I would not let go, they were a symbol of my idol Bruce Lee. They were also a symbol of my passion, the Martial Arts.

That passion grew as I aged and thirty years later I opened up Invincible Ark Fitness here on Union Avenue in Nutley. I have traveled the world especially to the Orient in search of authentic Kung Fu. At one point, I found myself training with the Chow Wing Tak Martial Arts Association on their rooftop school in the heart of Hong Kong, the kung fu capital of the world. When you have a passion and a purpose as I do for Martial Arts and Fitness, there is no distance that is too far and there is nothing that can stand in the way of your dream.

In all of my travels, and all of the places I have lived in between, I have brought this passion and purpose back to Nutley. My mission is to serve others by helping them change their lives for the better through martial arts, better health and fitness. May it be well with you.
