2016 kia optima super bowl commercial

Can we just say how much we loved the Kia Optima’s Super Bowl commercial that aired this past Sunday. Here, we’ll give you the run down of what the commercial was about and why we love it so much.

 

The premise of the 60-second commercial was a beige man in a beige house looking for a pair of beige socks. His wife suggests him to look in the “walk-in” closet.

The viewer soon finds out that its not a walk-in closet at all, it’s a WALKEN closet. Christopher Walken greets the man and asks if he wants beige socks or something much more exciting; “the beige sock people get devoured by the ones who stand out.” Christopher Walken is wearing a colorful sock puppet on his hand, and it ‘eats’ a fistful of beige.

He then opens up the walls within the closet to reveal a brand-new Kia Optima as Walken states, “It’s like the world’s most exciting pair of socks but a mid-size sedan.”

We love the theme of the commercial because it emphasizes uniqueness: Walken’s famous voice & the Kia Optima’s features. Other vehicles are like boring, beige socks. This Kia has ‘pizzazz.’
