If your car’s current state gives you anxiety, it’s time to fix that! Here are some tips and tricks that will help you get organized and make you proud of your car once again.
Never Lose an Important Document Again

Have you opened your glove compartment only to have all of its contents spill out onto the floor? With the help of an expandable folder, you can prevent that from happening again. Organize all of your important car documents and receipts with this folder, and take back control of your glove compartment.
Stay on Top of Car Maintenance
More often than not, people only think about the mechanics of their car when something goes wrong. Create a spreadsheet to keep track of when your last oil change, tire rotation, etc. This way you will never be caught off guard again!
Keep Spare Change in One Place
Don’t let spare change roll around on at the floor or the bottom of the center console. Use an empty gum container or pill bottle to trap it!

Take Out the Trash
Speaking of unwanted items floating around in your car, it’s a great idea to keep a trash bin somewhere in your vehicle. Whether it’s just a plastic cereal container, or one purchased online, a trash bin will keep gum wrappers, crumbs, and apple cores from cluttering up the car.
Always Have Backup at Your Fingertips
Plastic grocery store bags have many purposes such as containing trash, wet clothes, bathing suits, etc. To keep them in one place and easy to find, store them in an empty tissue box!
Turn Up the Organization a Notch
Whether or not you are going on a road trip, travel pouches are a handy tool when it comes to keeping your car organized. They are perfect for DIY first aid kits, holding snacks for when you are stuck in traffic or creating a distract-a-kid kit.

Don’t Let Your Car Become a Tangled Mess
We’ve all had those days where it seems like our phone and every other piece of technology we own dies at the same time. To keep cords from taking over your car use cord clips to wrangle them in. This is especially helpful for when you are road tripping and everyone’s charging their electronics at once!
Mission Control for Kids
Speaking of children, keeping them busy is the key to a successful car ride. A surprising way of entertaining them, while also freeing up space in your backseat, is repurposing a remote control caddy. Equip them with crayons, coloring books, a water bottle, snacks, road games and anything else they may want! Another quick fix is to attach a backpack to the headrest of the row in front of the kids. This way they still have legroom and everything is at their fingertips.

Keep Your Liquids in Place
For those car maintenance liquids that you can hear sliding around each time you make a turn, corral them into place with a shower caddy. Never be the victim of spills again!
Create More Storage Space
If you find yourself constantly searching for things in your car or wishing you had a way to keep all your work, gym and mechanical things in their own separate areas, we have a solution for you. Collapsible bins are great for this as they are helpful when you need them, but then you can easily put them off to the side when you don’t!
Another quick hack is adding a shelf to your trunk. Use a metal rack and attach it to the headrest of the last row using a few fabric straps. This is great for making sure your gym clothes and groceries don’t touch, or keeping your eggs and pastries in place during your ride home.

Keep it Together
One last hack is to keep a carabineer in your car. It comes in hand when you need to carry groceries inside, somewhere to hold your umbrella or avoiding your purse or briefcase from falling on the floor and out of your reach. Carabineers are small and easy to store which makes them the perfect tool to keep pretty much anywhere in your vehicle!
So, don’t let the state of your car keep you from carpooling or prevent you from taking road trips. There are endless ways to organize your car, which means you have no excuse to leave it cluttered! For more fun tips like these check out our other blog posts!
