Here we collected 8 essential and useful tips to car waxing, from how to clean the car to wax application. Check out our slideshare below to learn more.

#1 Wash before you wax

It should be a common sense to wax a car after you wash it. Rinse and wash the car thoroughly by hand with clean water and special cleaner. Do not use dish soap or laundry soap. They could damage the vehicle.

#2 Use spray wax

Spray wax is easy-to-use and saves your time. Just simply spray the wax on the whole exterior of the vehicle, and then wipe it with a clean microfiber cloth to buff to a high shine.

#3 Use hard wax regularly

Compared to liquid and soft waxes, hard wax lasts longer and provides a stronger protection to your car. You should use it every 6 months to make sure continually give the best care of your vehicle.

#4 Use circular motions

No matter when you apply the wax or remove it, use circular motions with the towel to make sure you gently cover every corner of the car and bring it to a high gloss.

#5 Try Polymer Preservatives

When it comes to protecting a car, products with polymer preservatives are considered to be more effective than wax. It usually lasts 6 months to an year and can be easily purchased at any auto supply store.

#6 Apply a thin layer

When you apply the wax, use a small amount of the product and evenly coat the car with a thin layer. A thick application not only wastes the product but also makes wax removal more difficult.

#7 Use the right tool

It’s a common mistake that car owners use old T-shirts or cotton cloth to clean and wax their cars. A clean microfiber towel should be used because it’s designed to pick up moisture and small dirt easily with the special fiber structure.

#8 Follow product direction

Every product has its own special formula. When you use the wax, you should always read through the instructions first and find out the best way to apply it.
